| i used to use brake fluid to strip plastics. Had to leave them at least a day then you have to scrup off ALL the paint if any little traces of paint are left it will completely ruin all paint you put over top of it. it like eays thru and softens the paint you put on top if you dont properly scrub and rinse the figs. i would dump them in before bed then check them in the morning when you wake up, or dump them in the brake fluid before school then check when you get home. they should be fine for hours on end. but test a single mini or bit first to make sure, i have not used brake fluid since arround 1999 and i dunno how the new plastic formula reacts with it. Simple green is good, safe wont eat your skin and is environmentally friendly, but takes a couple days to get working. castrol superclean degreaser ( or the generic version "purple power") is what i have finally ended up using on all figures after14 years in the hobbydrop the figs into a jar of the degreaser and come back 45 mins to an hour later and the paint comes right off with a light rub of a toothbrush. Also with this product it is environmentally friendly, but will dry out your hands, tho less so than brake fluid. ( i have actually had brake fluid make the skin on my hands flake and peel off for a couple days after stripping figs) |

| I use simple green, its a basic cleaner that you can buy at most stores. Look near the mops and or cleaning fluids. I use simple green and usually I soak the mini's for about 3-6 hours and thats all they need. _________________ |

| Solid...does it take the primer off to? Right now I use Castrol SuperClean when I strip and it works AWSOME on metal minis but plastic is another story. When I use the superclean it takes the paint off but the primer it will not take off...on mini's _________________ Natakue "You'll shoot you eye out kid!" |

| Yeah it takes primer and paint off, it takes everything off. Sometimes it will take glue apart, sometimes _________________ |

| I have had mixed results with simple green. It will debond super glue. If you paint first then glue, the glue gets stuck to the paint and when the paint gets desolved there is nothing left for the glue to be bonded with so the fig falls apart. here are some photos with my exp using simple green on forgeworld resin. I'll do a before and after of a marine cleaned with castrol super clean later today. this is the simple green i used: a demon hunters resin door after about 12 hours and a rough scrupping from a toothbrush: same door after 2 and a half days and a stiff toothbrush: |

No not bleach based at all. For the uk crowd I usually hear people claiming success striping minis with dettol ( i believe this is an antiseptic) or fairy power spray( i believe this is some sort of dish cleaner/degreaser), but I havn't used either because I live in stateside. |

I have only had this issue when I use sandable autobody primer, becasue it slightly etches the surface of the mini. I'm an avid fan of castrol super clean myself I'll post some pics of stripped mairnes using CSC later today when i find something that needs stripped. |
