Hey ya all, God, I need help seriously! I've been a painter, modeller & collector for way to many years now and have never managed to start a proper Warhammer or 40k army to date. I have to admit, I don't role-play. ( could never get my head around it. ) But have always wanted a mega kick-ass army to display. Painting single miniatures have never been a problem. But when it comes to painting something as simple as a squad I freeze in terror and never get pass the first figure. This is becoming seriously depressing! Has anyone had this problem or know a way to combat this insidious disease that's ruining my painting pleasures.

First trick is not to overwhelm yourself, only do 5 figs at a time (in assembly line fashion ) and hide the rest so you can't see them (out of sight and out of mind) The second is to go slow, as a painter and not a gamer you have all of the time in the world to get it done, there is no time limit and by putting that kind of stress on yourself stops it being enjoyable thus you will quit.

set your self goals, like get my commander painted in 3 weeks. But all ways double the time you think it will take and then when you finish early you'll get a moral boost and want to carry on. but just sit down and take your time, put some low beat music on and make shore there is nothing to distract you. but if you start getting worked up and upset just look at some thing funny on the Internet (i would recommend funnyjunk.com for a good laugh) josh _________________ fonejaker accepts Commissions So Message me about getting your own piece of conversion or sculpture.*If you send me a PM, and don't hear back from me in a week or so, please PM me again. I've been licking brushes too long, and sometimes I read the message but forget to repond. Stop "1337-speak"!

Looks like two great minds think alike. First Thumper 7458 than your advice. Deep down I think I've come to understand the rules to painting groups of figures but somehow lost the way and will to do so over the years. Stew

Yeah...I tried the modern-assembly line approach... I'm floundering...rushing to get fighting troops ready... And I find myself appologizing to half painted Orcs:) 5 at a time is a good approach! And no dead-lines! I find it extremely Intimidating painting sometrimes.. I'll take a break for a couple of days then go back in to finish one fig... Then the viscious circle starts again... What army are you thinking of?
