Hey guys I just wanted to know if you you had any ideas on highlighting black armor besides hard edged highlights, not a big fan of that. I've already checked out the GW site and haven't found anything that I really like, so i thought I'd ask you. And just see if you guys had any comments on other areas where I could improve. Keep in mind I've only been painting for about 3 months and I paint more from a modeling aspect and not gaming so if the model has some strange or illegal combo its only because i think it looks good and it'll never see a table anyway so why not. Anyway on to the pics. Thanks again guys.

I use codex grey with a little bit of black to darken it. So use some grey for highlights.

I've always had similar difficulties. I personally find maybe one or two highlights of a grey thats only a bit lighter than black will be good. Followed by the light sharp edged highlights. If you want, it would pay off to experiment a bit, but you may not want to risk it. I like your job on the white cloth by the way. How do you do that?

Man that looks good enough already lol for the highlights i say add black and grey then gradually work urself up form that to a pure grey could take a while but is well worth it

I feel you... If I start with a very dark charcoal grey... I wash-in the Black... I prefer mixing a bit of blue into the black for the highlight and try to avoid highlighting with grey...I prefer not to use the out-lined armour plate look...That's all over 40K... I mean sure it looks fine from the other side of the table.... But I'm trying to kill that guy...why shoud he get the good view?

My suggestion for a fast highlight, just take some codex gray and then wipe almost all of it on to a paper towel. Then just give the module a quick dusting, if you don't over do it, it should come out nice

I like what you have already...but you can try and do what I do. Highlight it with a darker grey...then thake the black wash and wash the black parts...it will make the grey even darker and they you will slight highlights. _________________ Natakue "You'll shoot you eye out kid!"
