Duh Khaos Hordes of Graahk'rage began centuries after the Horus Heresy era was over. Graahk had been an Ork of an Elite family and was one of the few Orks that had been around for a very long period of time. During his lifetime he had seen many creatures come to power but it was the power of Chaos that really appealed to him.
He and a small group of followers had been studying the powers of Chaos from encounters with Chaos Space Marines and just simply text. He wanted this power as his own.
He began to pray to the dark gods in hope that he and his kin would become the greatest Waaagh! man had ever faced.
One god in particular took a liking to this thirst for power. It was indeed the blood god. For he had seen before countless battles the Orks had won and in these battles was much bloodshed. The god of Chaos was pleased. So the god Khorne spoke to Graahk and made him a deal. He told him that if he brought to him 8 skulls of 8 generals of 8 different armies then he would bless the Waaagh! of Graahk'rage with the powers of Khorne.
So Graahk set out on his quest for the skulls and he finished his task for the blood god. Khorne was very happy with his new collection so he did as promised and granted these countless numbers of Orks the power of Khorne.
The Orks one by one began to grow horns and spikes all over! Some of the Orks began to fear what was changing them but not Graahk. Graahk loved the sensation of the blood god filling his veins and soul.
Soon enough every single Ork in the Waaagh! of Grahk'rage was filled with a new power that made their eyes glow red, their veins pop out of their muscles and even suck the life out of the colors of their skin!
These Orks were now standing hunched over with spiked spines, 6-12 inch horns erupting from their heads like bulls, teeth that could cut through any organic matter, and claws that could shred even a terminators armor.
These Orks were far different than there brethren of other Waaaghs! and would reign over the universe in the name of Khorne for decades to come.
