Anyone play any? I know I'll catch some flak for this, but after I got tired of 40K (It happens.), I found -dozens- of interesting rulesets. I'm a sucker for Post-Apocalyptic stuff, and seeing as it's more Fringe gaming than anything else at this point, there's a lot of new ideas in these sets. Rant aside, I own/Play: Babylon's Burning 2085: Warlords of the Wasteland aka Skank Mutant and Death Ray Guns Wastelands Nuclear Renaissance Star Mogul Chain Reaction Zombie Plague Fallout: Warfare And others that I can't be bothered to think of at the moment. So, anyone play anything interesting lately?

Ah, I made a few assumptions.. I've had the 'pleasure' of meeting some very opinionated, and likewise unpleasant persons in the past, who were especially touchy about Citadel games/products. But, the ice is broken, and let's just forget about that, eh? Fallout: Warfare most assuredly is! It's the free-source wargame that originally came on the Fallout: Tactics special order cd. Full ruleset, and a few pages worth of printable paper mini's as a nice little bonus. There's also Fallout PnP, which would be the fairly complex, but deliciously detailed pen and paper rpg based off of the original system The PnP rules can be found here: http://wotg.stgfc.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6You can probably just google the Warfare rules; I know they're on BoardGameGeek.

Great post, and welcome to the Forums, Dimitri! I had some time, so I thought I'd go ahead and post some of the great games I play; Chain Reaction is great, although I am assuming it's the 2 Hour Wargames creation. That is the only one on your list I know of. Here are some greats I play... WARZONE; Yeah, I still play this game, sometimes using my own minis because the game is so overly OOP. Still, great game and fun rules. Frontiers: Liberty or Death; This is an awesome game where humans fight aliens in a world far off in the future and apparently humans worship, an Emperor!? Confrontation; Rackham's Fantasy miniatures game. One of my all time favs! Mutant Chronicles CMG; Although the game is now OOP, I still have over 120 minis, and love to whip them out and get a few games going. I still play this quite often. VOR: The Maelstrom; This game is also OOP, but the rules are awesome and very similar to the old WARZONE rules. Giant Monster Rampage; This game allows you to use any dollar store monsters, although me and my fiance love to use figures from the Godzilla movie series. Great game. Star Wars / Dungeons & Dragons Minis; although D&D is no longer a CMG, we still play with all the figures we have and the original rules. I hate the updated 4E rules applied to the miniatures. Star Wars is just simply loads of quick fun. World of Warcraft Miniatures Game; Yep, got into this one, too. Me and the fiance play this a few times every two weeks, but it does still see some play. Alright game. Axis & Allies CMG; This game is tons of fun. 'Nuff said. WWII skirmish wargame, with tons of dice, tanks and troops, WOOT! Just thought I'd post some of the Wargames / Minis Games I play. Check some of these out, and I'm sure you'll get into them.

I -love- the Warzone miniatures, and the ideas behind The Mutant Chronicles.. The WWI-II themes are so much more pronounced than in 40K, and it makes for some cool stuff. I think I have the pdf's laying around, but I know all the rules are freeware, so I can always snag 'em again. I've heard of VOR and GMR, but it just didn't really seem to appeal to me. I might have to take another look once I have some funds. Now, DnD.. I'm still playing 2nd Ed. ADnD. Never made the transition to 3rd, and 4th just sounds... awful. Never played the skirmish game, but I picked up a few mini's for generic things to throw at people, or as npc's adventurers. I'll dig around in my files and see what else I can pull of interest.. Oh, and before I forget, Necromunda is the best thing Citadel ever made. Epic 'may' rival it, but Necro still wins in my book.

Again, some very awesome points, Dimitri. Warzone is my all-time favorite wargame, and yes, you can find all those sweet files at mutantpedia.com and a few others, but I think Mutantpedia is the largest collection. I still play the Doomtrooper CCG with my fiance, we're both crazy about the game. I own about 17 booster boxes, all from various sets, like Warzone, Inquisition, and so on. Well, Warzone is simply awesome because of the depiction of it's trench fighting, which they showcased real well in the Second Edition rulebook. I still own the starter box from Second Edition, woot! I play First Edition though, very simple, fast and very fun. Anyhow, I still also play the old Chronopia rules from time to time; good stuff right there. And as far as D&D goes, tried 2nd, I hated it, played 3.5 and it grew on me, but I always had a problem with D&D and so many RPG's... ...WHEN DO WE GET TO THE COMBAT!? I always hated running around, talking to people, sorting out puzzles and shit; I simply wanted to run around and kill shit! That's why the gaming groups I played with all ran combat style RPG's with several settings. We did the old White Wolf RPG's with tons of combat and fighting (White Wolf also made a Minis Wargame, called Trinity: Battlegrounds, of which I also own a starter, woot!) and the old TMNT RPG with tons of fighting. This being why I love wargames, boardgames and certain CCGs. Evil D; you'll love Star Wars if you enjoy very quick shoot 'em up kinda fights. D&D Minis plays in almost the exact same style of play. Whoa, did I ramble again?

Ah, Mutantpedia! That's where it all was. I managed to luck out and find some massive deals on plastic Imperial Trenchers and Bauhaus Ducal Militia.. Frankly, they have more character than any Citadel sculpt I've seen, and they're all wearing gasmasks! The Bauhaus have got to be my favorite faction in appearance. I've got Blitzers, Hussars, Jungle Kommandos, and a few other things on my ever-growing to buy list. Now, here's where we're different: roleplaying. I normally GM, and I do my best to try and make every encounter as detailed as possible, without being boring. There's always plenty of killing: A Post-Apocalyptic world isn't exactly nice, you know? But having 'Tom-Tom, the Scav that came from a Tribal village somewhere in the north, with the crazy accent and tats.' is much better than, say.. 'Just another Scav'. I can spend half the game without combat of any kind, but it's always because the players -want- to; If it's actually interesting, people like it. Pretty simple rule of thumb. When it comes to scavenging and serious combat, I make it as tense as possible. The rulesets I use are, as a rule, very deadly. Sure, you can kill any Raider with your AKM, but what if they hit first? Then, we have the fact that you're combing through an ancient building, home to who-knows-what, without steady light, geiger counters, or anything to warn you of a coming painful death. Things like that. I've got a game system of my own in the conceptual stages, and I eventually plan on having both RPG and Skirmish/Wargaming rules in one cover, with options and suggestions to make it as detailed or simple as you and your group would like. And, I'm ranting. Sorry for that.
