how many ppl here have webcams and a mike ?
becus if you wanted to play a few games on-line and get a few ppl together.
you could play say an hr or two over the inter net.
would prob only be for an hr or so given time zones and real life .
but i think it could work out pretty well, and a mike isnt a must have but it would save on typing lol
im a lazy sod at times Sleep

ppl dont need to worry about being cam shy as they wont be on it anyway .
all you need is the top of a shoe box small try anything to roll your dice in.
then just set up your cam so it can see the try or whatever your rolling on .
that way we all see the rolls and ppl cant cry .

i found a online dice roller so u dont even need a set of dice.

http://www.wizards.com/dnd/dice/dice.htm

and ya i thought about doing this but its just a matter of getting everyone here every week at the same time so we can keep going. it never fails someone out of the group each week wont make it and then the rest suffer for it ( one way or another) thats why i started doing it this way so u can play IF and WHEN u r ready. it makes it harder and not as fun but u gotta do what u gotta do

I would like to play but I don't have any experience in these sorts of games and I might end up dragging everyone down. If you intend on testing this out, I would like to try, I'm free most evening and weekends, assuming these games don't stretch on for hours on end. I'm more of a fantasy kind of guy, y'know... goblins, elves, dragons sort of thing

Webcams have a broad range in price and quality from $20 to $200.00, good news is, nowadays they all seem to be about the same picture quality, it's just the higher end ones have more perks such as color balancing and face tracking . I'd say $20-$50 will get you a pretty good webcam, Mine cost me $160.00 3 yrs ago, now you can pick it up for about $50.00

As previously mentioned a webcam may not even be neccessary, unless you want to see the dice or other players

I guess the most important this is finding a piece of software that is free, is easy to use, allows webcam and/or voice, conference calls in both webcam and/or voice, how many people can the conference call allow before the quality degrades?

Again I'm open and I can test out the software with people, I do have a Skype account already.

my skype is m,kearney

stick cam will let you set up a room that only your friends can enter .
person hosting will be in the main window and the others in smaller ones off to the side.
i know blokes who did a thing on here for ppl into amature films.

so stick cam would prob work best but prob best to use something like skype to begin with .
shouldnt be a prob getting ppl on there talking but im not sure if you cam have all the webcams running at one time .

my webcam wasnt much £20 i think from my m8s PC shop its a sub-vision or something like that .

I can't get a webcam, don't have the money for it, BUT I still want to play.
I've run Dark Heresy sessions over skype before and its very doable w/out web cams, just mics.
