its just a hero clix base or something like that.

lol heroclix, there are plenty of other counters that worked that principle before the "CLIX" games came out. Its a 40mm base with a window cut out used magnets to stick the piece of plasticard under the 40mm base. the pre done drill holes on the bottom of a 40mm base are actually 1/8" so i stuck a 1/8" disk magnet in the middle hole and sunk a 1/8" disk into the plasticard piece that goes under the base and called it a day. I supose its somewhat like a clix base but without the clix and without the paint in the ass ring you have to use to turn it haha. either way, unlike most i wont have to have a dice sitting arround following my miniatures then accadently pick it up when its time for armor saves etc.

An alternative I just thought about while writing this post would be to use the "drum" clix piece form mechwarrior clix i believe it indicates the mech's heat level, would be easier to use that in the future which i may end up doing.

I was thinking the same thing. In truth I plan on totally redoing it once I really perfect this method of building up "true scale" marines( i still need quite abit of practice especially on the upper leg greenstuffing parts). At that point this specific figure will just become a sgt. Since I use the tactical marine back torso pieces it would be quite simple to just use the commander back torso half that has a cape included.

What I gather "true scale" means is, the standard unmodified GW mini is way out of proportion to a real person, when you modify the piece to be "true scale" you are actually attempting to recreate that model with real world proportions

This link is to another amazing "Truel Scale" Space marine
Consider this also, the "artist" is starting with a much bigger canvas 120MM scale
