Yeah so... I knew this would be a metal kit and have big pieces but after prepping the model I am at a loss on how to assemble it. I know glue itself won't work but I don't know how to properly utilize my greenstuff to make him stay together.

I guess while we are on the subject.

Can I just glue metal to plastic? I got the chaos havocs kit and it seems like a hybrid.

Sometimes you just gotta break down and either pin..A pain with metal
Or sometimes you can dremel a decent size magnet on the larger figs...

Model cement-plastic glue won't help with metals...
Dollar Store Super Glue works fine @2 for $1...Metal or plastic
You won't feel as bad when it dries up or gets clogged..
The heck with the expensive hobby glue.

back when i did one for a friend in 3rd edition I pinned it at every join and its still holding up. I used some of those silicone tipped clamps to hold the parts and a small drill bit in an actual drill instead of a dermel. It took about 30 mins.

I highly suggest pinning EVERY join, even the hand and backpack vents.

The pieces of that thing actually weigh a lot...
Pin, it'll be time well spent.
Dry fit the whole thing, make all the pins and holes, then (and only then) glue the monster togheter.

I used 3mm steel rods in many places (Might have been overkill... Wink )

I've never pinned any models together just superglue, leave it to dry and if its not sticking enough put extra super glue on and just flatten the glue out around the joint so its not obvious and sticks together properlly.

Remember to wash in soap and soak the miniature so that the glue sticks to it much better. Also try undercoating before supergluing as it may help!

Not to slam on your "undercoating suggestion" but I strongly do not recommend it, if you undercoat then glue, the glue will adhere to the paint and not the model itself, I recommend washing the model as said before but pin and glue prior to undercoating, this goes for metal or plastic, the glue is designed to adhere bare materials together, whether it be plastic to plasi, metal to metal or plastic to metal.

and thumper is right about the glue sticking to the paint..... it might work for a few but eventually something will happen and when u pick up the pieces u'll see a bare metal spot and another piece will have a big lump of glue with primer on top. seen it in my early days (shhh dont tell anyone, dont want em know i goofed allot in the begining hehehehe)
