Lets say I wanted to start...but not sure what army to play...whats a good army? I was thinking skaven but im not sure. Give me some advice.

my friend is starting a skaven army, they look cool, but they all really look the same, so it could be a bit boring painting them,

I have a warriors of chaos army because they are strong, have good stats and i like the models and painting them.

I think vampire counts look pretty cool, but i suppose its your choice and your opinion

I would go onto the gw website and have a look through each army and decide which army u would like to start.

From what I hear Dwarfs are a draw army, you don't win much but you don't lose much either.

i dunno much bout fantasy and im probly got this wrong but from what i hear theyre great at stopping magic??

Well, if i started (that I'm ever so slowly going towards) i would do lizard men just because i would like to go round with lord mazimunder firing lizardy bolts of death and making it rain frogs and stuff.

the best all rounder by far is tomb kings, good at everything brilliant at nothing. probs the best army for starting, it will be easy to pick up the rules with them

the skaven army book can be downloaded in the download section on this forum if that helps

I'd go with an Army that's recently been re-done...
My buddy started Chaos right as everything was changing.
He needed new Codex's by the time he painted 500pts....

i've got tombkings and my first 3 games i ever played i won so that says something.

i also have orcs which are fun but un predictable, high elf good with magic, lizardmen was just re-done so they have so really cool models. i myself just started a skaven force and i hear they are getting re-done this year so dont go buying too much for it until u find out for sure if they are being redone (they may bring out new models)

but i'd say buy what looks cool to ya as u'll have more fun painting them if u like them

Ok im a fantasy veteran... NOT! but i know some shit bout it!
first of try thinking of dwarfs or orcs... cus they have BFSP ( batle for skull pass )
if they dont suit you then think about high elves,empire or tomb kings. if they dont suit you either... then you have Vampire counts or skaven to go from, since dark elves and warriors/beasts/deamons of chaos and skaven are not that newbie welcome... i play dark elves and seem to get good so far. if youre gonna play elves of any kind then i could give ya some tips. Oh, yeah right wood elves are depending on that the terrain youre playing on has at least 2 forsests... so dont pick em...

Well since I said I started dwarves I have swiched armies twice.
The best adivce I can give you is to pick what you like.
Pick what looks cool, read the army book, and if you can read it and enjoy it, the your in a win situation.
