Hey guys again, im thinkin of starting Fantasy as like a side project and i was thinkin of which army to choose? i think im goin with Lizardmen and am going to get thier new models in February. So if u can give me some pointers,advantages, disadvantages and ur thoughts that would be great. Very Happy

the liz boys was one i was thinking about but they look like dino warriors and i just couldnt get into them. now with that said they are coming out with some serious hard a$$ looking stuff here in feb, there is a few that i would love to do up so let me know if ur gonna need some help cause like i said there is a couple i'd love to do up but have no need to buy them for myself so let me know if u want or need the help. theres a few other models out there i wanna do as well but cant see paying for it when i'll NEVER use it

yh ur right bootleg, there re some kickass stuff coming out in Feb like that new stegadon...mmmmmm sweet! and the temple guard.

Do u know anything about them..... any pointers???

the suarus are some of the best infantry in warhammer fantasy, never underestimate them, also they are backed up by some great magic. some other strong points with them is chameleon skinks are great in taking out just about anything.

ya i dont know much about them other than there is a coouple i really want to paint up so u buy em i'll...... well nothing rhymes with that but u buy em i'll paint em ok thats as close as i can get hehehehehe but ya theres a few i'd like to paint up so the offer is out there bud

I play two different types of lizardmen lists, there is one that is led by Krok'Gar who is the dude on the carnosaur. when you chose him he makes saurus cavalry a regular choice and makes saurus warriors on foot a special choice, tso the idea is to take him with a whole ton of saurus cavalry, a couple engines of the gods or just regular shaman for dispels and make a charge army
I got 3 boxes of saurus cavalry and break them into 4 units of 6 guys to try to get flansk and stuff. and they cause fear and the carnosaur has frenzy (little different than regular frenzy too) and terror.
in higher points games, which they usually are if your taking krok'gar, take a screen of skinks as a shield for hte cavalry and maybe a salamander or two for support fire.
If your new to lizardmen fantasy this build will work quite well against most troop choices.
I usually have a sideboard of two units of 10 saurus warriors and an extra shaman depending on the army I am against.

oh, forgot to tell you about the other lizardmen build thtas pretty useful. This one is the more castery of the two by far. Take the highest level of slaan mage priest you can, 2-3 shamans, temple guard and 2-3 units of skinks with kroxigors for some descent charge blocking. A regiment or two of saurus warriors as well depending on what you have for points.
so, you put the slaan mage with the temple guard so he can`t get beaten down as easily in hand to hand, use the priests for dispels and for the slaan to cast through (special rule) and use the skink regiments to charge into a unit with their kroxigors for the hard hits. Keep the skink regiments small and plentiful as they'll basically just be used to keep their troops tied up to take hits from your spells. You can also take salamanders with this build because their units are idealy gonig to be far away from you for most of the game.
I usually take a sideboard of a bunch more skink skirmishers because they're good for blocking ranged hits on the salamanders or whatever.
So yea, theres he other one for ya. hopefully that helps.
by the way, lizardmen have badass magic, and if you have enough points to swap the slaan out for lord kroak thats just rediculous. About hte only thing that'll compare is a vamprie counts army with lots of vamps and a high elf magic army. Tzeentch armies can too if they spec for casting but then they tend to be a tad light on the clsoe combat.

lol, one again I forgot something. Chameleon skinks are awsome for charge blocking for both armies, I usually try to take at least 3. wit hthe cavalry army, blocknig a charge so you can get one on their units is pinultimate. and for the caster heavy build, they are great at tieing up character models or those big chunky units you need to stay back for another turn. Smile
