PostSubject: Combat Shock! Magazine Update   Sat Apr 11, 2009 10:59 pm

Guys, I am thinking about this...

...with deadlines so close all the time, I am thinking of making Combat Shock! a bi-monthly magazine. I think it would take the stress off my back of trying get things in line all the time, and open it out (time) a lot more for everyone involved.

What do you guys think?

Releases would be:

Jan, Mar, May, July, Sep, Nov

or

Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec

Whichever sounds good, but we'd always do "holiday related issues" around the issue of that specific holiday, like a Thanksgiving/Christmas issue for Nov, or Dec.

It's up to you guys, but the monthly thing is going to slow things down.

I need feedback, guys.

Thanks!

Alright, it'll be as Fonejaker picked.

Volume two won't be scheduled for release until June 2009. That means that the deadline is kicked forward until May 20th.

Some guys haven't even contacted me about the magazine articles...

Anyhow, I also wanna know who would be committed to full time staff work; this only means that you're going to contribute an article or two each volume (you'd be mentioned in the magazine as Combat Shock! Staff).

Let me know, because sadly, if I can't get people to commit to this project, it'll fall through and I can only say that I tried.

Thanks, guys!

Alright, guys, I hate to do this, but I haven't heard from anyone. Let's hope that a few more folks try and contribute to the magazine since we have a whole other month before the deadline; if one magazine falls through, though, I will cut the magazine.

Only reason is, I cannot have several commitments to think about, if no one is contributing, making it a dead project. There is nothing wrong with it, I just prefer to know these things ahead of time so that I know.

Another thing, I only have two people telling me they'd like to commit. Two people.

If anyone else can, then I'd be grateful. Thanks, guys.

so is this thing dead or just moving along slow like??? u know i started to write up an artical for when mini wargaming.com was starting their book (which went bad...people going every which way etc etc so they made it in house)...... needless to say i have an artical (1500 to 2000 words) that i could fin up (polish the turd) and send it in.... sure i could do an another one every 2 months (maybe more if it pushed it)..(as if i wasnt busy already but still wt-hay)

i know I'm only one person but still with the other 2 that makes 3....4 with u bro

just a thought would hate to see it fail when 40k radio's guys are doing it and were just as talented as they are if not more... i mean look what we did with youtube in a short period of time.... we can do anything we want to do it is just a matter of wanting it bad enough

LOL! Chill out, dude. Hee, Hee.

The magazine is going as planned; we're going to release it every OTHER month. The post to that info is just above, so the deadline to the next issue, is May 20th.

When I said, YOU TWO, I was referring to people who wanted to be noted as STAFF, not people who were contributing to the next issue; THAT information, is located in the magazine section of the forum.

But the forum has been inactive as of late, I have started to simply grow old of constantly trying new things to boost traffic and activity. I tried with the magazine, the podcast and the forum itself. You all know how much I love this community, and work hard to keep everything up, but problems with my father, some REAL SERIOUS family issues right now and other crap are just taking up my time.

Anyhow, the magazine is fine, bro. It's fine as long as people keep to their word.

The podcast should be up again when I have some free time; other than that, the magazine is simply about those who WANT to submit to it; not everyone does, and look at how many members of the community we have.
